Construction Materials Testing Technician

GeoWerks Engineering is a company focusing in Geotechnical, Civil, and Environmental Engineering. Established in 2007, and with a main office and laboratory in Alpharetta, GeoWerks has experienced much growth and is now expanding its service area from Metro Atlanta to locations throughout the southeast.

We are currently looking for a Construction Material Testing Technician. The ideal candidate has basic knowledge of Civil Engineering, but experience is not necessary. Candidates with current ICC certifications in Structural Steel, Reinforced Concrete or NICET Certifications in similar fields are a plus. This position requires an individual who is very hard-working, prompt, responsible, and an efficient time manager, while also seeking to improve personal knowledge of the industry through continuing education. The responsibilities and tasks related to this position include but are not limited to:

  • Laboratory analysis of soils including, Standard/Modified Proctors, Sieve Analyses, Moisture Determinations

  • In-place density testing of soils, aggregate and asphalt using multiple methods

  • Site Concrete testing

  • Reinforcing Steel Inspections

  • Assisting with shallow foundation evaluations

  • NPDES Inspections and Turbidity Analyses

We offer a competitive salary based upon hours worked and education/certification level. Hourly rates typically range from $15/hr to $22/hr. As this is outdoor work, the schedule is weather dependant and can vary. Management can be flexible with school schedules.

We are a Drug-Free Employer. Must be able to pass a background check, drug testing, and have a good driving record. A company vehicle and associated fuel card will be provided for all field assignments, pending approval of the DMV record.
